Single Post/Topic Highlight
(1/1)
Adz666:
Would it be possible to create a mod that allows an admin/moderator to highlight an individual post, or topic via the use of a button?
I've seen other mods out there that allow certain membergroups to have specially colored posts, but nothing that allows an individual post to be highlighted.
Thanks :)
Ryvoxe:
Yes! This is totally needed. Would be great for important announcements or significant posts.
Arantor:
Well if you want to highlight a given topic, make it sticky.
Not sure why you might need to highlight a separate post on its own, though?

I can actually think of loads of occasions. Good idea.
For instance, for highlighting in thread warnings from mods, for instance to get back on topic, or for drawing attention to particular posts that contain important information within the thread.
Shouldnt be that hard, i would have thought just a matter of creating an extra background css, and having a toggle button to trigger it on and off..
its already in place with the approve/unnaprove. could just be a matter of working out how to trigger that particular style.
Arantor:
It's a lot more complicated than that, actually. Apart from the small detail that the background colouring is in fact part of a massive image, there are all sorts of performance concerns to deal with, which is the main reason post moderation is disabled by default.

Well, there are other ways of doing that, such as the moderator/admin only tags that can only be used by mods/admins which would achieve something similar without any performance concerns.
