My site has an ongoing, serious permissions problem.

I am trying to find a programmer to fix the problem with our permission system. We have a problem throughout our permission system that affects not only moderators able to handle awards {which is the awards mod}, but problems with different board permission sets not allowing certain ranks to do what we have set it up to allow them to do. We have set up permissions for mods and G-mods to be allowed to do certain things {like remove polls in one of our special boards} but they still can't do it. Also, regular members don't even have full permission ranges in the non-default board categories with regards to modified abilities--most notably, the unsubscribe ability. I think that this entire set of problems stems from a single malaise the more I study it. I think it could relate to something going awry in the database.

Does anybody here have a clue how this might be fixed and what could be causing it? The problem itself is very old--it goes back almost two years at least.

Is the permission profile default from SMF? Those cannot be changed. You needto duplicate them in order to modify.

Groovystar:
No, these are ones we set up. We have issues both with created member groups and created board permissions particularly when there is a modification of some kind involved. I've identified both the awards mod and the Unsubscribe mod as showing these problems. Unsubscribe works fine on the "Default" board permission setting {which is most of our boards} but people cannot unsubscribe from threads that are on boards not set to Default.

We are unable to endow our custom-made moderator member group with the ability to handle awards, which is a pressing concern because we really need the help but don't want to promote 10 administrators just so they can be able to handle awards. What do we do about all this and what could be causing it?

Groovystar:
Bump

Groovystar:
BUMP. This isn't going away. Need help asap.
