Error while installing new themes

(1/3) > >>

PersianDeveloper:

I had a SMF1 forum and when I was trying to install a new theme, it gave this error (Actually right after the theme is uploaded it gives this error):

--- Code: ---Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster @ XXXXXX . XXXXX and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
--- End code ---

I decided to upgrade to SMF2
so I did that today, but the problem is still there
installing a new theme on SMF2 the forum shows the same error

K@:
Anything in the error logs?

MovedGoalPosts:
Is the theme package too large for the server to accept the upload from within the forum software.  Check what you php.ini settings are.  If they are low some hosts may allow you to change them.  In my case I find that for some packages I have to manually upload via ftp and only then can I install.

I have tested 3-4 themes, max files was 500Kb !

I can install packages but not themes

PersianDeveloper:
additionally I see the same error while trying to edit for example the  "style.css " in the theme edit section
I make the changes but when I click to save the changes the error arises
