Customizing SMF > Graphics and Templates

Need help creating a customized theme

Some friends and I have a forum that we want to change the theme on and create the graphics in paint shop pro, however none of us know anything about coding.... anyone out there have some advice on how to get this done without costing us a lot of money? Or ways to learn quickly so that we only have to change some graphic links and minor details such as colors etc?

thank you but thats not necessarily what we are looking for... we are looking to create something more along the lines of hxxp:www.psp-party.com/partycentral/index.php [nonactive] but we want to change the banner/header image and colors periodically...

Ah. I thought you might have wanted a five minute job that was totally n00b-proof.

All that site has done is to install a portal for the front page, and do a very quick and rough colour change on some default theme elements. The editor I linked to would easily handle that sort of colour change, and would do a better job of it. Logos can be changed in admin just by changing the url in the settings box.

If you want to get more advanced than that, you'll need to start learning how all the css works. One of the best ways to understand that is to use Firefox for dev work and install the Web Developer add-on. :)

for now I just want to be able to change the colors and the banner thing lol... the rest will come later... Thank you for that information!
