SMF 2 has three views for PMs. What you going to do with them?

bloc:
I do not know who you are lol :) but it sounds like an ambitious plan with lots of coding hours ahead. Personally I'm only interested in the theme stuff mentioned, new theme, hooks and so on. So far no fork have outdone SMF in that dept. yet. ;D

Is that a challenge? :D

Great to hear, go for it :)

Yes.

It's likely they will disappear and be replaced by a new global view, since I was never a fan of them at all. It all depends on how people like the new approach once I've shown it in public.

I say yes. I also say challenge accepted.

Thank you for your interest. :)

That said, I noticed I forgot to mention that the administration panel will see a complete face-lift. I never liked the way it was built up and I never was very easy for new users to find their way around it. I'm not sure how it will end up yet, but I'm sure I'll find a better way.

Also, being a huge fan of movies, I find myself hanging around over at IMDB quite a lot. One thing that fascinated me there was that while viewing my list of movies that I plan to watch, I am presented with a choice of three different list views. One standard view that just shows a list of movies and their name, one extended view that also adds their title image as well as a short description, and finally a grid view that shows each movies title image, side by side, row by row, with a short description below each one as well as their rating and more.
I want to add that to SMF's lists as well. Take the member list as well as its ACP counter-part "view members". The normal view in that case would be the standard member list (re-designed, duh), the extended view would show their avatar (the larger version, likely) along with their "about me" (or whatever else there will be to show), and finally the grid view would be pretty much the same as Antechinus' "Dynamic member list" mod (originally based on another person's idea) but - again - re-designed. Food for thought.
