I finally got around to getting my website up, so now there's more than just a forum on my domain... Anyway, yesterday I got this email from some company called TopSites, asking me to update the info on my site for their listing. After looking around, I thought it was interesting. They had a ton of "options"... They'd list your site at the top of the category, highlight it in yellow, even check it every so often (you specify how often) and email/page you when it went down (not very useful), as well as translate it into seven languages. Now, there's just one small catch: They charge you $5/month just to list it, and an additional $5/month for every "option" you choose. As it is, I'm only paying $4.75/month for webhosting, so I cancelled my listing. Has anyone else heard from this group?

I get emails from companies like those every so often - I just delete them :)

Never heard that one, but i use overture and ah-ha for my clients.

I've had several mails from them about sites I run but, like Jeff, I just delete them!

hmm spam i hate those kind of mails.. if i wand something i will google for it! The company that spams me will never have me as a costumer.
