what does this sentence mean,please help me

In other words, a cat may drop 10 stories fine, but 4 stories may kill them due to the way gravity works against them. I read something like this somewhere.

Actually it's not because of gravity - it's simpler reason: Cat's are smart. Don't laugh - let me explain.
A cat will reach terminal velocity at about the 5 story mark - so although in theory there should be little difference between the 5 and 10 story mark by 4 stories a cat has righted them selves, and still falling it will then start to relax.
So although by 4 stories it will have righted itself - it's all stiff making the impact harder. By 10 stories it's completely relaxed - so the impact is somewhat softer.
Cool eh? The things you learn in highschool science class.... ::)
