Site slow with Safari 6 and Mountain Lion?

I hope this post don't turn into a browser flaming war. ;)

After upgrading to Mountain Lion and Safari 6 I noticed our site really loads slow in Safari. Images are really slow to load.

Even before the upgrade I think our site was a little slower in Safari then FF. But after upgrading to Safari 6 and ML it's really bad. I have been using FF as my default browser ever since the ML upgrade.

This morning a member posted this in our private board.

--- Quote ---Downloaded safari 6 on apple computer and change to mountain lion and have notice appliance junk site slower to load.Anybody else having this problem.Downloaded firefox and site is faster to load with firefox.Hope apple fixes it

So I'm wondering if it's possible that anything on my site could be causing problems with Safari or is this simple a problem with Safari and there is nothing I can do about it other then use another browser.

Kindred:
well, have you tried Firefox on the mountain lion installation?

If that is not also slow, then it almost definitely is a problem with the safari 6 & mountain lion combination

Yes, FF works great on ML.

Kindred:
then it sounds like safari 6 screwed something up...

The funny thing is though that it just seems to be my site with Safari that is slow.
If I go to another site with lots of thumbnail images such as this page http://www.panoramio.com/user/305350 it's super fast with safari.

If I go to a page on my site with lots of thumbnail images it loads images up like I'm on a dial up connection or something, lol..
