yeah that's what i meant... but what i meant by melted icecream whas that it would be melted.

What actually ended up happening for a few people was that they had huge overnight bbq's for their neighborhoods for free.  No point in having the meat go bad, so they had fun with it.  I heard two people on the news that did that.

I don't live where the power went out but I have a cordless phone that actually has a battery in the phone AND in the base so if the power was to die I wouldn't be screwed :D

Parham:
all of our phones are cordless, except one in the basement which i wasn't aware of.  So I helplessly kept trying to use my cell phone, but that didn't work either because all cell phone towers were out of power.  About 2 hours into it I heard a very faint ringing and went on a spree trying to find out what it was.  As soon as I found the phone plugged into the basement, I started dialing out to see who I could get in touch with :D

Actually most cell phones worked, but you just couldn't get thru cause so many people were using the service.
