Possible quote/bbc parsing bug (no, sorry, not a bug!)
(1/1)
Peter Duggan:
So why does Grudge's quote appear as part of AP2's in this post?
I'd assumed that Grudge had just misplaced the quote tags, but I made sure I had them in the right places before I posted my reply and it came out just the same!
--- Quote from: Grudge on July 21, 2004, 04:32:44 AM ---
--- Quote from: Ap2 on July 13, 2004, 07:35:36 PM ---Allowing certain membergroups to access the forum when in maintenance mode
--- End quote ---
I can see the justification behind that. I don't think we want to add any more permissions for 1.0 though - not a bad idea IMHO.
--- End quote ---
Grudge:
I really can't see anything wrong with that - am I missing something?
The outside box is quoting "my post". The inner box is Ap2's quote which was part of my post. It is in bold as that is how he wrote it.
Cypher7:
I can't see it either! I thought I did, but then that was me just getting confused!!
Is it because in the original topic where Grudge replied, his text is in the quotes from AP2's post... or is that what you are talking about!!? Maybe that was just the way Grudge typed it?
Grudge:
Updated my posts there - it was my fault with the formatting.
Peter Duggan:
--- Quote from: Grudge on July 21, 2004, 05:47:21 AM ---Updated my posts there - it was my fault with the formatting.
--- End quote ---
* Peter Duggan made a mistake! :-X
So I knew Grudge's post was formatted wrong, but didn't notice mine was right because the correctly nested quote was (naturally) still all a uniform colour!
