How do I get a shoutbox for my forum?

(1/3) > >>

moonbright:
Hello, I am new to SMF, hopefully I am posting in the right section, if not feel free to move it, I am presuming I am using the latest version of SMF since I only just created the site, I think that is 2.0.

I am just wondering how I get a shoutbox on my forum?

My forum URL: hxxp:divinelight.createaforum.com/ [nonactive]

Welcome to the forum, Moony!

Try searching the mod site:

http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods

Also, some of the portals have shoutboxes. At least, I know that Simple Portal and Tiny Portal do.

NBK*Twitch:
As K@ has mentioned you need to look in the mod database.

I personally suggest http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=585 .

It is pretty simple but powerful at the same time.  Plus it uses AJAX :D.

Old Fossil:
Since I first started foruming ( Is that a word?) I have used the ajax chat mod (link in signature).

The mod is a combined shoutbox and chatroom which can also be integrated.

However as I use a portal I use the portals shoutbox instead.

"createaforum.com" might mean that you can't install a shoutbox.

Seems they don't allow mods to be installed.
