Some Questions about Mambo
Dr_Michael:
I am confused. Where can I get a fresh version (not upgrade) of Mambo+SMF to install and create a new site? :-X ???
Kris:
You have to install both seperate in directories and then configure the extra integration components you can find around here in topics to make it work.
Still all beta.

Sounds difficult. :o
Is any possibility in the future to have a full version of Mambo together with SMF?

I would hope not. Tying two large applications together in such a manner leads to all sorts of problems when patches are to be applied and this is a much bigger problem if a security patch needs to be applied urgently. I've BTDTGTTS :-[
Ideally what is needed is a standard SMF installation, plus a standard Mambo installation, plus an easily installable integration component which ties them together. The worst thing that can happen then is that you need to disconnect the two if an urgent security patch means that the component doesn't work any longer.
I think we're starting to move toward this with some of the work that's currently underway.
