How much web space is enough for SMF

I am thinking of getting web hosting, I need to know how much (approximately) web space is optimum for SMF forum.

And please give me examples to understand better, like how much space will be needed for a forum having __ number of people, __ of posts, etc.

And also if you could suggest a cheap host (not an overseller), then it would be very much helpful to me. Thanks. :)

How much space is variable. For starters I'd say about 100MB of space is enough for a small community.

For reference, a forum I had for seven years which had about 170,000 posts, was 80MB in size for its database and 1GB for the files.

Maybe a few more. That board had about 3,000 members, but most were bots and lurkers.

That they are. You need 10 posts before you can set a proper profile.

As long as you don't have attachments the physical install of SMF is very small.
