Get to know the team: MikeMill
« on: December 23, 2005, 01:13:09 AM »
Well it appears I inched out Oldiesmann and get to be the first victim team member.

So let me explain a little of how this will work.  Jay along with some of the other team members put together a little survey.  I will answer the questions on that survey to give you all a feel for who I am.  Then you get to ask me questions for a week.  At that time Oldiesmann will lock and desticky this topic and put his up.

As far as my personal rules:
If I say something you disagree with, oh well.  I will express my personal opinionis on this topic and not hurting anyones feelings isn't a concern for me.  If you ask it I'll probably answer it, though there are some questions I won't answer.

So without further aido here is my survey answers.

None right now.  I played Everquest, City of Heroes, and World of Warcraft.  I tried Dark Ages of Camolot but never got into it.

Ever tried Guild Wars?  If not, you should definitely pick up a copy :).

I haven't.  My issue with Guild Wars is that from the readings it appears to be very PvP centric, which isn't really my cup of tea.

There's more PvE than PvP, IMO.  I definitely feel like I'm compromising your topic.

What language?
I got my first programming book and compiler from my uncle at around 14/15.  It was an ancient version of C.  I played around with it until I join the Marines.  However I didn't really get into it until I returned home.

Do you like maths?
I enjoy math.  I just took a Linear Algebra course and that class was freakin cool.

Ever watched Star trek?
Like it? lol
Yes a lot :)  Though Voyager never really got me that interested.

Ever visited Scotland?
I have not.

does your middle name start with an "M" too? that would be fing sweet.
Nope, middle name starts with L

Do you prefer Yahoo or Google, or some other search engine?
Google.  Of course having it built into my browser doesn't hurt :)
What kind of computer do you use?
A Dell desktop.  2.8 GHz, 512 ram
Quote
What type of shoes do you wear and what size are they?
Quasi-hiking shoes, brown.  They go with most things.  Size 13, though that changes slightly depending on brand

Do you have any hair in your head ot shaved cause of military?
I keep my hair at about a medium length.  I can't let it grow out otherwise it gets too thick and starts to curl.  I used to have a mustache but shaved it off a few weeks ago.
What OS do you preffer?  Windows Family, Linux, Mac
My main computer is a Win XP, but I have a Debian Linux box also.  Don't really perfer one over the other.

What rank did you achieve as a Marine?
Corporal, E4

Where were you stationed?
Boot camp at San Diego, MCT at Camp Pendleton, Tech School at 29 Palms, California, then I was stationed at Okinawa Japan for 3 years.

What got you interested in SMF?
Rodcet Nife server's message board ran it so thats how I found out about it.  I got interested because its a nice piece of software
Perfect Woman?
I like too many different types of women to narrow it down.

Perfect Holiday?
If people would actually celebrate it, Veteran's Day

Perfect Vehicle?
If I had the money I'd probably get the Honda Accord Hybrid.

Answer to the ultimate question?

The package manager :)  Still some things I would like to see improved on it but IMO its one of the best/most important features we have.  It allows people who have no real knowledge of programming to customize their site.
