SMF Support > Language Specific Support

i need to retrieve translated Mongolian language files to give to SMF. how?

<< < (2/4) > >>

fussyman:
1. get me in the Mongolian team, though I probably I won't have time to participate.
2. I checked themes/default/languages/ and there's only one language- english. No other language. No custom theme is installed. Apparently only default theme has language files. Files from here are all english. Yet i wonder how it shows me Mongolian output.

As far as i remember, i overwrote english language files. Mongolian texts were written inside the english language files, uploaded, overwriting original english language files.

3. how to give ftp to a folder, for you?

here is link: http://tuurgatnytuv.com/old/

Dzonny:
fussyman, if you want/can/have time to help about translating you are more than welcome to join our Translation team.
About your problem - did you checked throught those .english.php files to see if there is actually english or mongolian text?

You can make a new ftp account (if you have permissions to do so) if you want, and just set it's base path to folder that you want.

Regards.

So I was right about overwriting the English files.

Looking at the link you gave
- Site is in UTF-8
- Even the basic user help file is translated, as you pointed, only admin help is not fully translated.

You can FTP in your PC all files like *.english.php in /Themes/default/languages, make a zip and upload it here (I guess you have upload permission, Dzonny can confirm). Files should be renamed to *.mongolian-utf8.php and are for SMF 1.1. Could be a start base for SMF 2.0, extensive changes have been made.

You have switched to Joomla/Kunena in this site.

I totally understand your intension  to give your work so other Mongolians might use it. However, without someone responsible for Mongolian translation, it will be very difficult to make a proper use. Another Mongolian asked to join translators but is inactive for about a year now.

Dzonny:
Ok, after a quick check i noticed that your paths is set to:

--- Code: ---http://www.tuurgatnytuv.com/Themes/default
--- End code ---
instead of:

--- Code: ---http://tuurgatnytuv.com/old/Themes/default
--- End code ---

So language files for /old forum is located at ../Themes/default/languages/ and not in ../old/Themes/default/languages/.
You should fix your paths by using repair_settings.php tool if you want to change language to english.

fussyman:
Thank you Dzonny.

1. that folder is under a joomla-based website. yet anything smf is under "/old" folder. How i did this way, i can't remember. Did i tamper with coding? I'd be happy if you could explain.

2. now, how i upload the language files?

3. buttons need renaming?
