SMF Support > Converting to SMF

BBPress to SMF 2.0.2

I have a forum in bbpress, and i will like change to smf 2.0.2 but when i use the converter "bbpress" to "smf" give me this error "Unable to find the settings for bbPress 0.8.3. Please double check the path and try again."

I read the posts in this forum but neither help me, regards

Hello Emanuele, thanks for the link. I install the converter for bbpress 1.0.x but when i press "continue" give me this error

Sorry, the database connection information used in the specified installation of SMF cannot access the installation of bbPress 1.0.x. This may either mean that the installation doesn't exist, or that the MySQL account used does not have permissions to access it.

The error MySQL gave was: SELECT command denied to user 'USERFORUMEXAMPLE'@'localhost' for table 'bb_users'

I dont know the reason for this, thanks u

I change the convert.php and the sql and now is working, thanks for all.

The problem in this case is that you are probably using two different databases and maybe two different mysql account.
The point is that the mysql account you are using for SMF cannot access the database where bbpress is installed.

There are few possible solutions, one of these should work:
1) be sure the mysql account has the same rights on both the databases,
2) install SMF into the same database as bbpress and use the same mysql account.
