I want to help.
Kioreker:
Good morning.
I want to contribute with the SMF wiki. I have readed the documentation but I got confused because there are a lot of different instructions.
What I have to do to start translating?
I am from Mexico and I want to help you to translate some articles to Spanish.
Thanks!
Kioreker:
Sorry. :-[
I have found the way to translate.
Solved Topic.
emanuele:
Hello Kioreker,
thank you for your interest in helping! ;D
Just for reference, here there are some informations about the wiki translation process. :)
Kioreker:
Thanks emanuele, I have translated a full section of wiki to Spanish language.
Now, I have another question.
I know that is possible translate different pages which appears in the "Using SMF - As a regular user" section but only is possible without using the "translate extension" (using "copy-paste") and when it pages are translated, the green square on top to select language is not shown.
So, Could you tell me please what I have to do for helping to "fix" it?
I already know the process to translate without the "translate extension", I refer that I would like to help modifying articles for be ready to be translated with the tool. And I would like help to do the necessary for pages shows the green square to select language.
Is it possible or is it by default?
Could I join me to the "translate team" for helping or is not it necessary?
Thanks for reading.

Kiorecker,
As a wiki user, you can do just about anything you wish to do.
If we don't like it, we can delete it :)
I am sorry that we have not used the translate extension EVERYWHERE. Unfortunately, that translate extension has problems which we have not figured out yet, so we don't use it on every page.
Instead, I suggest you do two things
1) Create an /es version of an existing page. Do the translation that way
1.5) For the wiki-templates, you can see that emanuale has created a way to have versions of these in several languages, as well.
2) Next, you probably wish to have a spanish title for that page. Do this by using a wiki redirect.
2.5) And see 1.5 above, for using the correct title for the page in the wiki-templates you see on these pages.
3) Finally, when you have enough spanish-language pages, you can work on creating the Spanish version of the "main page". If you go this far, please do ask for help. It is a little complicated to put it together, if you have never done so before.
4) Please do ask Dzonny to join the translate team. This way, we will get to know you better, recognize your work as being the work of a "good guy", and be better able to help you help us help users.
Thanks!
