Strange behaviour after upgrade from 2.0rc3 to 2.02

Hi,

Currently trying to upgrade (on a temporary subdomain so my visitors don't see my issues) from 2.0rc3 to 2.02

I've created a subdomain.
Copied the files, created an extra database and restored a backup
in this subdomain I've upgraded the rc3 to 2.02

i then created a second subdomain to do a clean install of SMF 2.02. I then pointed the dbase and settings to the correct path and database.

Everything seems to be in working order, but 1 thing.
when I go to 20.domain.com i get the error: "The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you."
But when I go to 20.domain.com/index.php I get my forum index..

Please note that this is a clean forum install using an upgraded database, no plugins or addons are installed yet.
The original forum has:
highslide
AEVA Plugin
pretty urls
installed.

What could be the issue?? I've tried searching, but this is such a general error......
