SSL Error for web address

(1/2) > >>

EagleOneSix:
Hi Guys,

I have enabled SSL on my communities gaming forum, and am having issues with people who use the address

People who use the h t t p s:// address without the www get an error saying insecure content, but people who use http, h t t p s ://www. and h t t p :// w w w . don't get any error, its just people who use h t t p s : / /  any help would be appreciated. Thanks! :) The space between the protocols is because of a external link error smf don't want me posting.

The reason SMF doesn't like posting external links, as I'm sure you can appreciate, is a spam deterrent - it is only for the first post.

Now, it would be helpful to post a link to the site itself to see what's going on, I have a few ideas but I actually want to see it to be sure. (I'm guessing there's a URL issue in the theme configuration)

EagleOneSix:
I understand the spam part, I wasn't making a complaint, just pointing out. The address is w w w . u s a c a n a d a . o r g

Thanks. :)

Arantor:
It is as I suspected. When you use the https-with-www version, the theme etc is loaded with an https URL. But when you use https-without-www, the theme links etc. are not https links.

What you can do is alter the theme and image folder (in the theme configuration) to simply point to /Themes/... rather than http:// or anything else - that way, it will use http or https depending on whatever the user uses.

EagleOneSix:
Thanks! It worked, one other question, it says the page has insecure content? I'm guessing i've got to go to some files and change some http's to https's, not sure where to start?

Thanks,
