Sending e-mail to an ad-hoc member list

I thought I saw this before but I can't seem to find it now.  As the administrator I'd like to send an email to a group of members.  (Not in the same membergroup.)   What I did was update the registration requirements after they registered.  I'd like to send (just) them a request to update their profiles.  I was looking for a way to either from a check box list or otherwise send them all an email at the same time.  -thx-

Admin -> News and Newsletters -> Newsletters
Click on "Advanced"

You can then choose specific members to email.
