Ibogaine - antiaddictive medication?
sensovision:
I've watch some program today over TV and saw some shoking news... they claim that there is a way to treat any drug addiction and become healthy person again... there is some kind of flower whcih grow in the Africa which also drug and after eating you get some hallucinations which make you rething your life over and help give you same effect like many years treatment in some clininks... it was also said that CIA know about it for long time but keep it in secret. there is also fundation in US to legalize it but psychologists and mafia try to keep it away from market not to loose their business. Do you think it could be truth?
here is site where you can obtain more info on this subject: http://www.ibogaine.org/
because if it's truth it could solve many problems of humankind...

I don't believe it. Let me explain to you why. A person decides to overeat and become overweight, not a drug. Therefore a simple drug won't magically bring a person's weight down. Likewise a person decides to start using drugs. Therefoer a simple plant such as this one won't magically cure a person's addiction to drugs. A person must WANT to stop doing these things to truly stop.
I didn't read too much into the page because I quickly lost interest. Even if this does help, who says it helps forever. You probably have to take the stuff forever to NOT be addicted to whatever your addicted to. Taking drugs (I'm sure this flower is processed into pill form or something) to stop taking drugs... how ironic.
I don't believe it. I think willpower is all a person needs to beat any addiction, from food to drugs.

Can't be true because US government agencies would never keep secrets from it's citizens. Where's the eye roll smiley?

So basically, in order to kick one drug, they're giving you another. This drug causes (and this is from their "manual" which I'll give the reference link in a bit) wanting to be lying down, nausea, vomitting, skin becoming numb, hearing a buzzing or oscillating sound, hallucinations, random flashes of light appearing everywhere with the eyes open. That's stage one. ;) Stage two is going on a cognitative "journey" which will show you things important to you, then you're exhausted, yet may remain awake for 24-48 hours, and have a diminishment in sleep over weeks or months. On top of that, you have withdrawals from it....sound SO much better than cocaine or heroin! I got this from:http://www.ibogaine.org/manual.html#dose

I agree, it's just stupid to cure a drug with another drug.
CIA kept it probably a secret, because it's just another drug, enough of those already. ^-^
