Dear Experts Please help me! :-\

* uploaded home directory and database to my new domain / hosting account.

CoreISP:
Have you restored the database using phpMyAdmin?
If no, you have to do that first.
If yes, then some of your credentials are wrong, eg the mySQL server, databasename, databaseusername and/or password are wrong. Double check your Settings.php and check if they are correct for your new provider or newly created database.
Qayyom Ashraf:
everything is same as settings.php and also edited manually...
also tried another old db backup, but same problem.
if you say, I can give passwords
no problem actually this is my test project.
(my actual forum is running with .com domain. i coppied data from running forum to another hosting account with the same domain name with .net extension)
Colin:
Like CoreISP said, the issue is your MySQL credentials. We can't help you too much more as the issue is not with the SMF software.
Krash.:
(Gee, this looks familiar.) If you uploaded Settings.php from the old forum to the new install, you have to manually edit the database name and password to connect to the new db, then run repair_settings.php again. repair_settings does not update the db info in Settings.php.
