Disabling the Forum part of SMF

If he just wants the whole membership system SMF provides, then it is more work pulling that out then just reading some tutorials and making one from scratch. There are hundreds of tutorials on making a membership system for your website.

But if you want a forum with a membership system integration, SMF does make that pretty easy - and I'd rather have a proven, stable and mature membership system than one I'd hacked together myself.

He said he wanted to 'disable' the forum, so he is obviously just looking for the membership system.

It wasn't ever really clear what he was going to do with the system other than deactivate the forum part.

*shrug* I don't really think there is much point continuing this debate, it isn't going to happen before smCore/SMF 3.
