(Another)Elementary Beginners Question

I now have another elementary beginners question regarding membergroups.

I've searched the docs and FAQs but cant pinpoint exactly the problem I'm having, which is -

I've created a board that is invisible unless a user joins one particular membergroup.
In my admin settings, I've set it so that membership of the group is 'requestable' (user may request membership)
I've then created a test account to check out all the new configurations in the eyes of a regular user, but I cannot find where to request a membership of the new membergroup.

Is there a 'request membership' option, or does a regular member have to PM an admin to request to join a group?

Yes, it's on every user's profile page, in this forum is:  http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?action=profile;area=groupmembership  just replace smf url with your own forum url  or go to profile / Modify Profile / Group Membership

From there you can access all the groups you can join.
