How to make it so people can't PM you {only a few you allow}?

Seems to me there's two separate things here.

Firstly, PM reports going to you. I'm guessing you don't want to have to deal with that (and that reports sent to 'all admins' should not go to you either)?

Secondly, general PMs to you, you want it so only buddies (and presumably other admins) can send to you?

Yes,that would be best, though I'd want the ability to turn off buddies' ability to PM me as well. The problem is that currently, when I do that, there's no indication that when someone sends me a PM I'm not receiving it.

But surely if you turn off the ability of them to PM you but then get a PM when they try to, doesn't that seem to defeat the object?

It depends. I just want to be able to have the site display some kind of error message to people if they try to PM me and I have my PMs off, basically. They need to know that their PMs won't reach me if they send it. Otherwise it looks to them like I'm just ignoring them.
