How much web space is enough for SMF

<< < (3/3)

JimM:
The space that a forum takes is ever changing.  If you have a very successful forum with lots of members that post a lot, you will need more space.  If your forum has a limited membership you might get away with a smaller amount of disk space.

There are a number of good host listed in our Hosts, Hosting and Commercial Services  board.

Thanks JimM for the link to the board.
Yes, i know that number of members, posts and especially images/attachments will be directly proportional to the amount of space needed. But i needed an estimate with examples. Like how much space this forum takes up? (this smf forum)

Colin:
The SMF community forum would take up a large amount of space due to the amount of content found here. I am not sure that the SMF administrators would be willing to release that information though.

JimM:
Unfortunately with all the variables involved, it's hard to give you estimates with examples.  You best bet is to pick a host that is willing to work with you and if you need more space, allow you to upgrade your package as needed.  It's much better to start off small than to pay for lots of space and bandwidth that you don't need.
