Feemish:
I have logged on as administrator.

If I go to profile it says: Position:    Administrator

However when I go to Admin:Forum Maintainance: Back Up Database

I click download and get the message;
Only administrators can make database backups!

seems like something odd is going on.

If I was you, I'd ignore that, because it very often doesn't work and there's no way to restore, from there, anyway.

Have a look at this, instead:

Hi,

Ok So I backed up the database and downloaded the forum files.

I then grabbed the downloads/smf_patch_1.0.22_1.1.16.tar.gz file and saved it to my desktop.

I then went to the package manager: upload package and browsed for it and clicked upload.

It told me that it couldnt upload the package becasue there was already a file with that name.

I then went to the 'browse packages' and deleted all copies of the package (strangely there were more than one.. someone has obviously had a go before and given up!)

I then succesfully uploaded the package. But when I went to 'apply mod' the same thing happened... nothing.
The ftp details are all correct.

I ftp'd to the forum folder and found the packages folder. I deleted the package and then uploaded it into the folder using ftp.

I then went back to the p[ackage manager and tried to apply mod... same thing... nothing.. I type in the ftp password and click 'proceed' but nothing happens.  :(
