Install help (another GoDaddy sucker)

I did a search on here and I see that I, like a few others, purchased space on GoDaddy without realizing the PITA it is to get these  boards working.

Is there anyone out there who has a functioning board out there willing to tell me how they did it?  I have the files installed (their install).  However, I cannot access the files to the point where I can get the board created - or even see the board.

I get the "Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later. " error.  Contacting their help desk had them send me a link for the install then a link about SQL strings.  I thought I'd have my site set up a week ago...

Any help would be tremendously appreciated.  I really can't thank you enough.

Have you created a database?
In Settings.php do you have the correct database name and password?

It was a little unclear to me if you installed your forum yourself or did the goddady people installed it for you.

But as mentioned above check the database details at the Settings.php file to make sure that they are entered as they should there. If they are ok then the problem might lie with the godaddy servers. But contact them better and ask them about it.

I work at Go Daddy and would be happy to help take a look at this issue for you.  If you want to message me your ticket number, I will review your install.

A reminder about admin / ftp passwords...
