appliancejunk: My forum is a paid forum, so if I gave you a link it wouldn't help. I have the registration page password protected. (At least I think I do. LOL)

Jade has a site for things similar to yours, called "Bunny rabbit sex" (She's pleasantly insane and we love her for it!). I seem to remember her doing something similar to what you want, too. Although, of course, I could be mistaken.
I've sent her a message, pointing her to this topic. If you hang around, she might just come in and say "OOO! Easy! What we do is...!"
It might take her a while to see it, though. I mean, you know what these writers can be like. ;)

As a follow-up, a rather strange person ;) has given me a thought...
If you go to Admin>Permissions>Edit profiles>Create a new profile, you can do weird stuff and assign them to a board. Would that do what you want?

It still wouldn't allow people to just randomly create their own boards, for which I still think a blog mod is a better deal anyway.
