Appearing on Google search results

ChalkCat:
I know it's very early days and I'm terribly impatient, but how long does it normally take to start showing up on Google search results?  We've been live for a month now and there is always at least one Google spider wandering through my forum, yet so far, however specific I am with the search terms for our own particular content, I can't bring up my forum on any searches that don't include the forum name as a search term.

As I say, I know it's very early days in Google terms, but how long is normal?  Six months?  A year?  Is there anything I can do to speed it up?

If the search results are un-competitive, you might be able to rank in 1 or 2 months. But. if the search results are competitive, it will take time. I will suggest you to do following:

* Try to get backlinks from high authority websites of similar niche
* Register and submit a sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools
* Produce fresh content
* Build Internal Links

Sometimes, you want to rank your content in US (google.com) or UK (google.co.uk), but it starts ranking in India (google.co.in) or on other cTLD.

So, overall there's no definitive answer.

Have patience and soon you will receive good amount of traffic from Google :)

is there any mod for auto internal link building?

Eugeanne:
I suggest that you do a onsite review for your site. Check if there's any crawl error. Fix it. After six months of link building there should be an improvement in the ranking of your site.

This is only a half-joke, Nova...

If you have the word "Sex" in various places, you'll be found.

'course, those that find you might not stay, unless you find a way to keep 'em... ;)

In your, particular, location, are there cafés, bars, shops, etc. where you could stick an ad, perhaps?

Local publications? Tourist blurb?
