retrieving a sql backup through scripting...

Is it possible to upload an executable file that when addressed will run a mysqldump for a db?  I have a client who's older host is MIA.  His cpanel is gone (I think the host let the license expire) but he still has ftp access.  So we need a way to retrieve his db.  We were thinking a php/html file that when executed will just dump the db into a folder we create.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...if someone has a file created that will do this (with simple variable editing) i'd REALLY appreciate that too ;)

Thanks,
Jason

I suggest uploading phpMyAdmin.

Yep - its pretty easy to install as well :)

That's what Douglas recommended...the user is going to try that now.  Thanks guys!

I just assumed there would be some sort of command line that could be run through html/php that would connect and do a dump to a specified location.  Oh well, I think this should solve his problem either way.  Thanks!

Jason
