YSE/SMF question on banning IP's

This is a question for both systems (presently affecting me on YSE, but curious to know on both)...

Is it possible to use some sorta code (like */ or whatever) to allow for the addition of notes into the "ban IP" field in the admin center?  I have a huge list of banned IP's and it would be really helpful for me to be able to add comments so I can easily track who was posting from the Ip's I've banned.  I have people who continually come back under different names, so I'd like the ability to compare them easily.

I recall that there will be better IP tracking in SMF, but wasn't sure if this might be possible already (hopefully in YSE)

SMF banning has a comments feature, YSE sadly does not.
