Fear of flying

Seriously.. its pretty harmless.. painless experience.. I actually dislilke trains more than planes...

If it really bothers you, try alcohol..drink a few drinks before you get on the plane ;) It'll either loosen you up, or require more "bags"... :O
Bring something with you that will keep your attention...a book, music, etc. Realize that you're safer in a plane than in a car anyday of the week.

If it makes you feel any better, when you fly if anything does go wrong you probably won't end up in a coma, or paralysed etc. There's only two ways to come off a plane - on foot or in pieces ;D

Actually, I'm pretty sure it is. The media likes to scare everone with plane crashes, etc... but there is a greater risk of you dying when you're in your car. Trains I think are pretty safe, because they can't really be smashed so much.. but other than them planes are the best.
Flying is actually boring. If you get motion sickness, just take a pill... all you'll feel the whole time is like you're sitting in a car *waiting* for three hours.
And, you are in control of your life. If the plane crashes, there's probably a good chance it'll be over water, and you can use the floatation device... and the gas masks... and wow, they have all kinds of things. You can even help beat any hijackers senseless... I mean, come on, you think that can kill you with a blinking little knife? You might get cut, but they'd get beat senseless by you and the mob.
That said, I've NEVER EVER had any problems on a plain. I've gone by boat, plane, train, bus, car, and walking. (walking is my favorite but is still more dangerous than flying...) I can't bike, but.. anyhow, the plane is the least boring and monotonous. More, I've never had to swim or fight people off in a plane. The worst thing that's happened is Polly Shore decided to sit across the way and bug me.
