Changing hosts - what do I need to do?

I'm changing webhosts, and I'm going to just copy the database and all the files over to the new host. So I'm going to want to change the MySQL database, how can I do that? And what other things am I going to need to do?

Take a backup of the database structure in your cPanel or PHPMYADMIN (or SSH). Then backup all of your SMF files via FTP to your local machine. On your new server you will want to import the database structure, again via PHPMYADMIN (or SSH), and upload all of the SMF files. Then download and upload repair_settings.php to your forum directory. Access it via the URL http://yourdomain.com/forumdir/repair_settings.php. Correct the settings listed there for the database and server paths then select save.
