Hi

I apologise if this is the wrong place to post, but wasn't sure where to post.

I am using smf 2.02 I have installed mods: stop forum spam, akismet, and am looking to install stop spammer.

The two I already installed (SFS and akismet) are for earlier versions, am I missing direct links to updated versions or do I need to modify and move all the files to update them

When I go to this page http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1519 Manual Install Instructions for SMF and select 2.02 from the drop down and then click Parse it gives me a page full of instructions to modify files and move files.

My question was, isn't there an updated version of the mod so that you don't need to modify and move files around?

I am fine to do this, but I know plenty of people who wouldn't be comfortable modifying php files, so I just thought maybe there is an updated version download that I am missing, as I say I can do the modifications but just wanted to check before I start. Don't want to create more work than need be ;)

No, there isn't. The mod hasn't really been updated in a long time, certainly not since SMF modding was made easier by better hooks.

But if you're installing mods manually you might be doing it wrong - there is the package manager which is designed to install it for you...
