One, got tired of the issues with Mint, Fedora was plain crap on a laptop so I'm back with Ubuntu.

Care to give a more detailed reason? I'm running F17 on my laptop (Asus U56E) without issues, so it's not bad in general.

Multitasking with it was irritating (mainly due to GNOME 3), plus hibernation didn't work, and that's something I really need working. My laptop's a K53E from ASUS.

Coolio. You might also try some of Ubuntu's other desktop environments. I can recommend Xubuntu, because the interface is more customizable and it has a Mac-like feel.
--- Code: ---sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop

Logout, click the ubuntu icon, and select either Xubuntu or XFCE.
Kubuntu is kinda cool, too. I only tried it briefly though, because it felt too much like a jQuery powerd Windows 7 to me.
I also tried Lubuntu a while back, because it runs at about 200mb of RAM. Not a lot happening in the interface department with that one, which is probably the point.
