Hiya Guys

Just trying to install smf had enough with phpbb. forum.smartdroidroms.com
upon going through web install I got the forum set up but can't view no icons and the default template seems to be broken,
looks like converter has done its job but any images in the old phpbb posts are not visible at all.
tried package manager and getting this:
Package upload failed due to the following error:
"Although the package was downloaded to the server it appears to be empty. Please check the Packages directory, and the "temp" sub-directory are both writable. If you continue to experience this problem you should try extracting the package on your PC and uploading the extracted files into a subdirectory in your Packages directory and try again. For example, if the package was called shout.tar.gz you should:
1) Download the package to your local PC and extract it into files.
2) Using an FTP client create a new directory in your "Packages" folder, in this example you may call it "shout".
3) Upload all the files from the extracted package to this directory.
4) Go back to the package manager browse page and the package will be automatically found by SMF."

have tried the solutions 1, 2, 3, and 4 above but no luck and I thought SMF was suppose to be a walk in the park comparing to phpbb.

any thoughts or pointers are most welcome,

Dunno where that came from, coz that's total poo, as far as I know.

You need to upload the "Package" still archived. Then, you can go to Package Manager" to apply it. :)

When you try to install mods, always remember my sig, first, and always make sure that the mod's compatible with the version of SMF that you're using, too.

Thanks very much got passed the problem of installing Theme :)

only problem left to solve is no images are shown on the board not even basic thread icons any ideas? please

forum is located at: forum.smartdroidroms.com

Storman™:
Looks like the chmod settings are incorrect on your Theme folders or subfolders

They should be 755 for folders and 644 for files.

Certainly check the ones in Themes -> default -> images
