Considering using SMF for sports content forum- just a couple questions

I have an NFL fan base on the West Coast for an East Coast team, about 500 total members. I want to offer them a way to sign up and have year round conversations about our team and activities- I'll host the forum on my GoDaddy service and include the forum as part of our established website.

It would be ideal to require that any users accepted to the forum show a picture or at least a Facebook link to their own Facebook page since we're not interested in anonymous posters.

Does the above sound like something that's a good fit with SMF?

Not sure that your choice of host will be ideal, though.

We've encountered quite a number of problems, with GoDaddy, I'm afraid.

Where would I be likely to find someone who is successfully using SMF on GoDaddy to see if I can get some pointers?

The majority of people 'successfully' using GoDaddy for SMF are people with quiet forums.

I'm not familiar with the semantics- what do you mean by "quiet" forum?
