Default membergroup for new members

Please forgive me for being so dumb, but I can't work out how to set a default membergroup for new members. I tried creating a post-based group set to 0 posts, but new members are still coming up "ungrouped".

The default membergroup is basically "Newbie" you can edit that how you please.

(I haven't checked this up in this beta though, mind you)

Ah ok, this is probably due to the error I got when converting the membergroups - I'd better start over from a backup. Cheers.

Isn't the default membergroup ID 4 though? You just create anew member group and change the ID in phpMyAdmin?
