Are you talking about Super Mario Wii? Super Mario Wii is the greatest mario ever made. It combines all the best features of the old 2d mario that you love then adds in up to 4 players on the screen all playing at once, and also the ability to bubble instead of dying. The star coins are a nice addition too, it lets you chose your own difficulty when playing the level and gives you a reason to go back and play the levels again. The flying hat is also the best power up to date, in my opinion.
