Setting up permissions?

(1/2) > >>

OzzyMozzy:
Hi there, I am using SMF 2.0.2 for my forum.

I allow all regular members to be able to edit their posts at any time. In one of the Categories i have 4 boards that i don't want them to be able to edit any of there posts in.

How can i set it up so that they can edit there posts in the rest of the forum but not in these 4 boards?

Fog:
Ozzy good question, however off the top of my head there is no setting for your idea.

Do you have a test site?

Arantor:
Sure there is. Create a new profile based on the default profile, but remove permissions for editing posts in the new profile, then assign that new profile to the relevant boards.

Fog:
Arantor, is creating a new profile equal to creating new a memgroup?  What about member groups based on post count would that cause any problems?

Perfect thanks for that it worked.
