*shrug* I'd bet a large amount of money this still won't be changed in 2.0. It *might* be changed in 2.1 but I wouldn't hold your breath.

So, as the bug report mentions, it will cause issues with searching so it won't get changed.  I guess we could list out some reserved words that will never be allowed even when you disable username checking. I think we should definitely add something on the wiki regarding this. By we, I mean, would you be interested in adding a page?
