Set Search Parameters keeps popping up
(1/1)
discjocke:
A "Set Search Parameters" pop-up window keeps popping up and I can't stop it in the search section settings in the admin section. Not sure if any of my members are having the same issue yet. I need help.
I've included a snapshot of the window that pops up.
Chas Large:
This dialog usually only pops up if the SEARCH button at the RH end of the bar above the menu, is clicked but without entering any search parameters (box is empty).
There is no way to disable it, it's designed to display that way in case someone clicks the button without first entering what they want to search for.
Have you installed any new buttons (tabs) manually that might be using duplicate code for the search button? Or any mods that might have added an extra button?
discjocke:
Haven't added or changed anything. I have made a change in my Lastpass (login's program) on my puter, and it seems that's when it started.
In the forum, I just try to go from let's say one post to another, and it pops up automatically.
I deactivated auto login for forum in my Lastpass program, now the search box doesn't pop up. Can't figure out why. I'll check the link that is posted within the auto login, to see if it shows a link for that search pop-up.
Chas Large:
OK, I've never heard of the search pop up appearing randomly before so it must be something triggering a search. Might be wise to do a full AV and Malware scan too, just in case.
I assume no other members of your forum are complaining about this? if they were then that isolates your pooter.
discjocke:
In my password program, it seems somehow the URL for the "Admin" section sign-in was changed to the "Search parameter" URL. But what puzzled me was, whenever I went from one page to another within the forum, it would pop up. All I did was remove the auto login and that fixed the problem. There's still some questions, but not going to pursue it. I have to keep my sanity. Thanks for your assistance though.
Issue resolved.
