I think penguin is about Google's penalizing websites who's abusing the standard link building.

Penguin went mainly after sites that over optimized anchor text, I believe if you're anchor text is in the region of 60%, then you were penguined.

This also goes for on page seo, but Panda also focused on this.

A lot of my sites got hit, as I bought seonukex services a good while back... it's pretty contrivercial, as, what's to stop your competition link bombing the hell out of you.

I've always relied on free traffic, but I'm now looking into paid, I'm sure Google will make a lot of money from penguin... myself, I'm looking at adcentre, at least you can talk to a human, they warn you if you're doing something wrong, and it's a lot cheaper.

LOL, this type of topic always brings in the spammers and questionable posts. Seonukex is simply SeNuke used by a very questionable service to bombard the crap out of people's forums such as mine with unwanted spam links. If you pay for that service you are simply perpetuating the low life spam business. They will take your money and then Black Hat spam everyone they can.   Spam is spam plain and simple.

Nope, Google Penguin really is the name of the last update to their indexing algorithm, the previous one was Panda.

The Android codenames are foods, after Froyo we had Gingerbeard, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich and the up-coming Jelly Bean.
