Newbie help, setup install.php

FTP Connection Information
This installer can connect via FTP to fix the files that need to be writable and are not. If this doesn't work for you, you will have to go in manually and make the files writable. Please note that this doesn't support SSL right now.
Unable to connect to FTP server with this combination of details.


Anybody have any ideas on how to get this to work?

chmod everything to 777 and run it again

Yes that fixed it, I had to got to every file using WS FTP and CHMOD the individual files as well as the directories to 777.

Why didnt you just Chmod everything at once?

I tried to CHMOD the forum directory thinking that this would be ok.  But It didn't, I went ahead an chmod every file after that.
