dwayne:
ive tried all the passwords but it seems that i cant get the password right...

what is the "SMF DATABASE PASSWORD???

need it badly to convert my IPB to SMF...

thanks...

Grudge:
It's the database password you used when installing SMF. This can be found in Settings.php - you need to have SMF installed first before using the converter.

Also - just as people always forget - make sure that the database user for SMF is the same as for Invision - if you installed SMF into the invision database then this is already the case - if not you'll want to use cpanel to add the SMF user to the Invision database - so they can see the data

dwayne:
please bare with me coz im not really good in scripting...

how will i add SMF user to the Invision Database? where will i go in the cpanel?

sorry for being ignorant on this.. :P

thanks..

dwayne

Grudge:
In cpanel do the following:
1) Log in
2) Go to "databases" (Possibly called MySQL Databases)
3) Scroll down the page, past all the database names/permissions etc, and you will see two select boxes side by side, under the heading "Add User to DB" (Or similar)
4) Select the SMF user you setup to use SMF (Probably has SMF in the name) in the first select box.
5) Select the Invision database (Probably has Inv or IPB in the name) in the second select box.
6) Click "add".

Done :)

dwayne:
