2.0.2: A guest posted a new topic on our forum

(1/1)

City Builder:
Hello,  Here is an odd thing that has only happened this one time today, I would not know about it except the member sent in a mod report saying he could not see his latest post in his list of posts posted by his account.

So I went to his one and only topic that he posted and I notice that he is a 'Guest' and not listed as one of the normal member accounts.

I check his account profile and it shows the normal stuff, he shows up as in the "no primary member group" like the rest of the members do, but yet on this new topic he created he showed up as a Guest.

I went into the mysql database using phpmyadmin and look him up and see that his member id group is listed as the number 1  Everybody else that I looked at in the database show a member id_group as the number 0.  I make NO changes but go back to his topic and now he's no longer listed as a Guest but is a full regular member.

I go back to phpmyadmin and search for this user in the members table and now he's like everybody else and is listed with an id_group of 0 and everything seems normal now.

Is there something that explain why he was temporarily listed as a Guest and allowed to post a new Topic as a guest when no other guests can post a new topic or even a message?

How or why did he get listed in the id_group of 1 (which I believe is the admin id_group) even temporarily?

I'm running SMF 2.0.2

I do Not have caching turned on.

Thanks

Wait, guests don't even have a profile...

Is a person registered under the name "Guest"?

City Builder:
No, he had a proper registered username and then underneath it was the word Guest, and then all the icons  that normally appear for members like the PM, Email, ICQ, etc were missing.

Yoshi:
Weird, maybe an issue with the database?
