Session Verification on 1.1.12

(1/5) > >>

KellyJ:
Hello,

Regardless of user or browser, upon attempting any change on the forum, (Reply, Modify, Remove, Move, etc) we get this message:
Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again.

Our server is on Go Daddy, and I heard there were some problems with that.

Some time back, our nonprofit lost our webmaster due to illness, and none of us have this type of knowledge. I know we should update the software, but we aren't familiar with that, either. I'm sure the size is large, as we have more than 33,000 posts.

I can't log into Admin, but do have access to the files on GoDaddy.

Any help is appreciated.

Colin:
Welcome to SMF,
I am sorry for your loss. You may consider posting in the help wanted board. This seems like something where you want someone to actually go in and make the changes for you. And yes Godaddy is notorious for poor hosting.

Colin:
If you want to do the work yourself try the following:

Clear the files in the SMF cache directory and make sure its permissions are set to 755

Kays:
Hi Kelly, welcome to SMF. :)

Something to try/check is to go into the Admin CP> Server Settings > Feature Configuration and set or verify the following:

Enable local storage of cookies - unchecked
Use subdomain independent cookies - checked
Use database driven sessions - checked

Colin:
Kays,
I don't think that is possible considering the OP cannot login otherwise I would have suggested the same.
