Is there a quick way to remove these

Some of our members are elderly and we find that they are coming on and going straight to the top one and not seeing the whole forum. They post a reply and then leave.
We feel it would be more helpful to them if they were to go to the info center at the bottom of the forum where the last 15 posts are shown and then they would get to know about our boards, etc.
Obviously we dont want this to be permanent as some of our long standing members find the 'show unread posts since last visit', most helpful.
We have SMF 1.1.13  Dilber MC Theme
Do you have any ideas what we could do.

Might it be best to advise those members to change their bookmark/favorites link to point to http://www.yourforum.com/index.php?action=unread;all;start=0 ?

Whilst I'm here... 1.1.13?!?!?

Been a few security holes filled, since then.

I really, REALLY recommend that you upgrade to v 1.1.16 kinda like... well... NOW! :)

Hi,
I have uploaded 1.13 to 1.14 as we was told to do them individually, as we were having problems jumping from 1.113 to 1.16 in one go.
As instructed I put the forum into maintenance mode and now can't get into admin to change it back.
Help!
