Attachments & PHP in safe mode

(1/1)

AjA:
Hi all!

I have a problem with the attachments -feature in SMF. When I try to attach something, it comes up with this:

--- Code: ---Warning: opendir() [function.opendir]: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 1219 is not allowed to access / owned by uid 0 in /home/mteamtech/public_html/forum/Sources/Post.php on line 834
Warning: opendir(/attachments) [function.opendir]: failed to open dir: Success in /home/mteamtech/public_html/forum/Sources/Post.php on line 834
--- End code ---

I know it's something to do with the way my host has configured PHP (Safe mode :(). Is there any way around it? I have CHMODded the files/folders correctly.

Thanks in advance!

Delete the attachments directory, and then create a new one through your FTP client.

I did that, and CHMODded it to "777" but I still get the same error..  ::)
Any other ideas?

Ask your host to change its ownership.  It should be owned by you, not 0. (meaning nobody.)

Yeah, just did that.. hopefully they'll sort it out soon.
Safe mode + a silly host = problems..  :-[
